Artist Trading Cards(ATC’s) are miniature pieces of art, in the form of cards, which are generally exchanged in return for other ATC’s. The concept was introduced by a Swiss artist M. Vänçi Stirnemann in 1997.
Artist Trading cards are generally of size 2.5 x 3.5 inches. Any sort of medium or art form in portrait or landscape, can be done on these cards. The ATC’s are generally hold the signature of the artist at the back. Artist Trading Cards are mainly used for networking and are swapped at ATC exhibits and other art events or exhibitions. These cards are also sold by a lot of artists, collected by various art collectors across the world and collection of these cards is a very niche hobby.
I came across this concept on the Simon Says Stamp Blog where they have something new each week. Weekly Challenges which happen every Monday and Thursday, introduction to new concepts, new releases and products, a lot of networking and beautiful projects by their Design Team gives a lot inspiration.

Here are my recent projects for the new challenges at Simon Says Stamp:
The Monday Challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Blog this week is on ATCs. So, I set out to make my first ATC with one of my favorite quick paintings. This involves gradual shading of the background followed by painting the silhouette of a tree.
ATCs and RELAXATION:
When there is a lot at hand and you need some “ME time”, small projects like these come to the rescue. Completion of projects that are small require lesser commitment and leave you with positive energy and satisfaction. Especially for artists, this could be a quick break from the bigger projects that you have at hand.
Also, one need not be a professional at art to make these. You could maybe just pick up up a set of art supplies and create something small, just as a way to de-stress and rejuvenate.
Thank you so much for hopping over to my blog. Do let me know if you happen to make a couple of ATCs. Maybe we can trade and exchange!!
Have a great week!!
